Young Adult Ministry

VIM Training
The Annapolis Southern Region VIM coordinators are having a team leader and team member training on Saturday, October 1 from 9 to 4 at St. Matthew’s UMC (14900 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715). Musician Needed
Lincoln Park United Methodist Church, 1301 North Carolina Avenue, N.E., Washington DC, is looking for a church musician.

The incumbent will work closely with the Pastor, the Director of Music and a designated member of the Worship Committee to correlate the music ministry of various musical styles or idioms and expression (i.e. Spirituals, Hymns, Anthems Contemporary Gospel, etc) as it relates to Lincoln Park United Methodist Church and direct choral music as necessary.

• Discuss and review plans, ideas and activities with the Pastor, the Director of Music, a designated member of the Worship Committee and the music staff as it relates to Sunday worship service and outside activities.
• Incorporate the Organ, Key Boards and Piano as related to services and special occasions.
• Ensure musical accompaniment and choir direction for all choirs.
• In conjunction with the Director of Music, coordinate and maintain a rehearsal schedule for each choir.
• Be available for additional rehearsals as needed.
• Ensure the availability of Organ/Piano accompaniment for the choirs each Sunday for morning worship service.
• Ensure a prelude is provided fifteen (15) minutes prior to each Sunday morning and a postlude a few moments after benedictions.
• Ensure availability of a choir and Organ Piano accompaniment at funeral services held at Lincoln Park United Methodist Church
• Ensure the availability of Organ/ Piano accompaniment for special services upon request, i.e. afternoon programs and visitation to other churches.
• Identify and assist in the addition of the music staff as needed.
• Meet quarterly with the Director of Music and other music staff to develop long range plans with goals and objectives.
• Meet quarterly with the Worship Committee, and as necessary to review and update the financial budget and program evaluations of Lincoln Park.
• Maintain a pleasant and positive attitude.
• Become familiar with the United Methodist hymnal and the order of worship at Lincoln Park United Methodist Church.
• Assist the Director of Music in the evaluation of all music staff.
• Identify and maintain the need for continuing education in the areas of religious music and leadership.
The incumbent must be knowledgeable in and have
• Excellent leadership abilities
• Excellent planning and organizing skills
• The ability to direct various types of religious music
• The ability to cooperate with and maintain control of a large group with multiple talent
• Salary $450 per week/$23,400 annually
